Our Purpose
“Our purpose is to glorify God by caring for one another and for others with good works that point to Christ for salvation and encourage growth in Christlikeness in the church Body” (Matthew 5:15).
Our Vision
“We are growing as a multigenerational, cross-cultural body of caring believers who hold out material help and spiritual hope in Jesus Christ to one another, to our neighbourhood of Wasaga Beach and to our world” (Matthew 22:37-39); we do this by:
(a) Declaring the truth; (b) Mentoring the willing; (c) Serving the many.
Leadership
Associate Pastor Christina Nohro
Christina Nohro was born and raised in Wasaga Beach but served as a missionary in India for over a decade. She has a vast amount of experience working in family ministries, counselling at-risk and abused women, and years of experience shepherding youth locally and in Asia. Her giftedness lies in serving people and being a kingdom builder in our community. Christina’s passions are spending time with her children and learning about different cultures.
Pastor Thanga Nohro
Pastor Thanga worked with Youth With a Mission for 16 years in southern India and the United States. In 2018, the Nohro family moved to Canada and joined Wasaga Community Church. Thanga was an associate and worship pastor until August 2023 when he became the lead pastor—a big step in his spiritual and leadership journey.“As a pastor, I find great joy in witnessing how the Gospel, through the Holy Spirit, can transform people's lives. It's fulfilling when individuals grasp God's immense love, recognize His plan for them, and wholeheartedly pursue it – there's nothing more satisfying!”
Pastor Thanga and Pastor Christina have been married for 15 years and have four children. They have served on staff at WCC in a variety of positions throughout the years. In 2023 they took on the role of co-pastors. They count it a joy to serve together both inside their home, to their congregation and in their community.
